Detian Transnational Waterfall

Detian Transnational Waterfall

大新德天跨国瀑布景区
📍 Chongzuo, Guangxi (China-Vietnam Border)
Detian Transnational Waterfall is the largest waterfall on the China-Vietnam border and the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world, after Niagara Falls, Victoria Falls, and Iguazu Falls. The waterfall spans 200 meters in width with a drop of over 70 meters, creating a spectacular multi-tiered cascade that roars through the lush tropical landscape.

The waterfall is actually a connected system shared by China and Vietnam — the Chinese side is Detian Waterfall, while the Vietnamese side is Ban Gioc Waterfall. During the rainy season (May to October), the water volume reaches its peak, creating a thunderous spectacle. Visitors can take bamboo rafts to get close to the waterfall and even wave to visitors on the Vietnamese side. The surrounding karst mountains and ethnic Zhuang culture add to the rich experience.
